Located in eastern Cairo, surrounded by Matarya from the north, Ain Shams from the east, Heliopolis from the south and Ameeria from the west. Zaytoun is distinguished by its low real estate prices, proximity from vital areas, availability of schools, clubs and churches, and it’s easy to reach location; however, Zaytoun tends to be overcrowded and it contains some slum areas. Zaytoun offers mostly middle level housing, and some areas around the Recruitment area offer upscale housing. Zaytoun hosts a number of famous landmarks like Virgin Mary Church, El Tahera Palace, the Sisters of Notre Dame Dezaputr School, Thomanbay Street, and Selim I Street. Zaytoun is easy to reach from Gesr Sues road, Selim I street, or using the Metro (Hadayek Zaytoun and Helmeyat Zaytoun stations).
